Day 1: Friday 15th March – Arrival, City Tour and Welcome Dinner
Around 4pm meet your fellow travellers in the lobby of Hotel Pullman El Bosque. Join our tour bus for a city tour of Santiago with a local guide to see the main sites. This evening there will be a group dinner in a local restaurant accompanied by a tutored tasting of the wines of a well-known winery! Return to hotel.
Day 2: Saturday 16th March – Maipo Valley
Today visit three wineries in Maipo Valley including lunch at one. Maipo produces predominantly red wine including some of Chile’s best Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s the closest wine region to Santiago. Late afternoon return to Santiago. Free evening.
Day 3: Sunday 17th March – Casablanca Valley
Check out and drive west to the wine region of Casablanca Valley and visit two wineries including a gourmet food and wine matching lunch at one. Casablanca is a relatively cool area which benefits from ocean breezes which makes it perfect for varieties like Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Late afternoon continue to the coastal town of Valparaiso and check in to Hotel Fauna, our base for the next two nights. Free evening.
Day 4: Monday 18th March – Valparaiso
This morning we have a walking tour of the wonderfully quirky city of Valparaiso with a private guide. Lunchtime and this afternoon will be free to explore the town, browse the many craft shops and relax. Or you may like to visit the nearby beach resort of Vina del Mar. This evening meet for a group dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 5: Tuesday 19th March – San Antonio Valley
Check out and drive south to San Antonio Valley known for its handful of high-quality boutique wineries. Visit two wineries including lunch at one. Later this afternoon continue south to the town of Santa Cruz and check in at Hotel Santa Cruz, our base for the next four nights. Free evening.
Day 6: Wednesday 20th March – Colchagua Part 1
Colchagua Valley is an important wine region and over the next three days we will visit several wineries in the various sub-regions. Today we plan to visit a well-known winery in the sub-region of Chimbarrongo. We’ll have a tour, tasting and lunch before returning to our hotel mid-afternoon. The rest of the day and this evening is free.
Day 7: Thursday 21st March – Colchagua Valley Part 2
Today visit two wineries in the central Colchagua Valley. At one, after a tasting, there will be a ride in traditional horse and carriage. Continuing to a unique winery situated between two rivers where we’ll have a tour, tasting and lunch in a lovely outdoor setting (subject to fine weather of course!). Late afternoon return to hotel. Free evening.
Day 8: Friday 22nd March – Curico Valley
Late morning drive to Curico Valley, about an hour south of Santa Cruz. Curicó’s vineyards are planted with more varieties than anywhere else in Chile, though Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are dominant. Curicó is known as a reliable source of consistent wines. Visit one or two family wineries with lunch at one. Return to Santa Cruz late afternoon. Free evening.
Day 9: Saturday 23rd March – Colchagua Valley Part 3 with Rodeo!
Check out of our hotel and drive to the northern part of Colchagua to visit a historic winery where we will have a tour, tasting AND a rodeo show! And then lunch overlooking their polo field. Drive back to Santiago arriving late afternoon. Check into Hotel Pullman El Bosque. Final evening of the main tour.
Day 10: Sunday 24th March

EXTENSION TO ‘THE NORTH’
Day 10: Sunday 24th March – Flight to La Serena, Brewery and Limari Wine Dinner
After an early breakfast transfer to the airport to catch the 09.37 LATAM flight to La Serena which takes about 50 minutes. On arrival in La Serena transfer by group minibus to our hotel in Vicuna (approx. 1 hour). There will be time to relax and have lunch. Mid-afternoon visit a nearby local craft brewery to taste their beers. Return to hotel and this evening a group dinner accompanied by a range of wines from a winery based in Limari Valley.
Day 11: Monday 25th March – Elqui Valley, Pisco and Stargazing
Drive east to Elqui Valley and witness the extraordinary desert-like scenery which gets more dramatic as we climb higher. Elqui is one of the starkest, most unhospitable wine regions on earth, and yet it somehow produces wines of great character and quality. Today visit a winery situated towards the end of the valley for a tour, tasting and lunch. After lunch visit a Pisco distillery to see the production of this unique spirit distilled from local grapes. Late afternoon return to La Serena with free time for an early dinner.
Elqui Valley has some of the clearest skies in the world so it’s a haven for stargazing and there are numerous observatories in the region. This evening we will visit an observatory near Vicuna where we will have a guided tour and the chance to view some of the wonders of the night skies.
Day 12 Tuesday 26th March – Elqui Winery and La Serena
This morning return to Elqui Valley to visit another winery who were the pioneering producer in the region. Then lunch at a local restaurant, and this afternoon head back to La Serena when there will be some time to see the old town with its market and colonial buildings.
Late afternoon transfer to the airport in time to catch the 18.49 fight back to Santiago. On arrival transfer to Hotel Pullman El Bosque.
Day 13: Wednesday 27th March
